It is heartwarming to see volunteers giving their own time and effort to benefit others. Instead of allocating their time for personal benefit, they wholehearted spend their spare time doing something special for the community.
During the last fall semester of 2013, students of Oklahoma City University have allotted many of their personal hours in community service.
Based on the tallied service hours from the students, more than 4,600 hours have been spent in community service. Students and organizations are teaming up for the school’s program called OCU Cares. Volunteer students logged in their hours using OrgSync, an online network where students can obtain information on school organizations and departments.
Aside from over 4,600 hours spent on community service, various projects of the school have also raised $12,000 from charitable donations.
