People love going to parks, not just to surround themselves with natural scenery, but also to enjoy their convenient amenities like fields, gyms, and playgrounds.
Woodson Park in Oklahoma City will be expanding its amenities soon with a new multi-use soccer complex that is planned for construction. The new complex will reside on a currently underused part of the park located on the west side of Interstate 44.
According to the improvement plan, the park will be repurposing its existing softball fields to give way to a multipurpose field that will cater to both adults and youth. There will be three fields for adults and fifteen fields for youth.
There will also be an addition of a baseball fields, basketball court, and playground. Other facilities will include restrooms, parking lots, spectator areas, and ADA-accessible concessions.
The Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department will be operating the entire complex, and the estimated cost of construction is $5.2 million.
