Basic Types of Enclosures That Can Improve Your Home

Installing enclosures around certain parts of your home can do a lot to improve your quality of life and also add value to your home. There are different types of enclosures that are better suited to different parts of your home, and each has its own unique features.

Below is information on some of the most common types of enclosures:

  1. Pool enclosure. Pool enclosures or covers are designed to keep your pool clean and free from debris. This can save you thousands of dollars each year in costly pool maintenance and extend the life of your pool equipment and electrical devices. Covers can be installed over above ground or in-ground pools and are available in several styles.
  2. Sunrooms. Sunrooms are popular with homeowners because they offer the appeal of the outdoors with the comfort of the indoors. Special glass is often used in sunroom windows to protect you year round from the harshness of the elements. The windows are usually double paned and filled with inert gas that helps the room stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
  3. Patio cover. This type of enclosure is actually only semi-closed and simply covers the top of an area. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors while protecting you from the sun and rain. Support posts for a patio cover can be installed directly into the ground or on top of a foundation.
  4. Pergolas. These can be a wonderful addition to your garden area because they are both visually striking and functional. Pergolas provide support for climbing plants and can even accommodate a patio if they are large enough.
