Walk for Kids Held in Oklahoma City for Fundraising and AwarenessWalking a few miles can help boost your immune system and make your body stronger. Walking a few miles to help seriously ill and injured kids has even more value.

This coming Saturday, April 12, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City will be hosting a walk party that will give everyone a chance to walk a couple miles to help children in need. The first Walk for Kids in Oklahoma City will be a fundraising event in celebration of the organization’s 30th anniversary. The goal of the event is to raise $30,000 in 30 days, and proceeds will go toward the charity’s efforts to provide support to seriously ill and injured kids and their families.

During the event, participants will have the chance to walk two miles beginning at 8:00 a.m. The fee to participate is $25 for participants ages 9 and up and free for kids 8 and under. The entry fee includes a Walk t-shirt. Kids can also buy their own Walk t-shirt for $10.

The event will be held at the Dell Oklahoma City campus at 3501 SW 15. Opening ceremonies will start at 9:00 a.m. Other parts of the event will include face painting, arts and crafts, balloon art, birthday cake, and an appearance from Ronald McDonald, the Thunder Girls, and the Oklahoma City Thunder Mascot, Rumble.
