This Saturday, enjoy a fun walk-for-a-cause event at the Myriad Gardens for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI Oklahoma will host its 12th Annual Support Walk in Oklahoma to offer support to people with mental illnesses and their families.
NAMI is a nonprofit organization devoted to helping people with mental illnesses and their families find hope in their lives. The organization advocates for providing better services and facilities as well as raising awareness in the greater community. Through various activities and seasonal programs, NAMI Oklahoma is continually building awareness of mental illnesses in the state.
The NAMI Walk is held each year in different states as a fundraising event throughout the country. The walk offers fun social activities while raising awareness and financial support for the cause. It continues to be the largest and most successful mental health awareness event in the United States.
The 12th Annual Support Walk in Oklahoma will be this Saturday, June 7, starting at the Grand Lawn of the Myriad Gardens in Oklahoma City. The event will start at 9:30 a.m. with check-in starting at 8:15 a.m. After the walk, there will a health and wellness fair at 10:15a.m. and wellness demos at 10:30 a.m. Food trucks will also be at the event.
